WoW AJ still Lives, Heart and Soul
Posted by Beldwain on Fri Sep 04, 2009 18:04:14 (78 reads)
I have been taking a long break from updates on this site. But not without good reason, I was tired of making updates. Call it what you will, brain weary, stressed, or under a cloud of irresponsibility. I needed a break, but I will be back now making updates and treating this more like a blog/news system more than anything.
So, all you AJers out there ex or otherwise thanks for the break!
First thing right off, if anyone wants to commit WoW social suicide and write a story for the site, I will review and post it. Please keep these things in mind, I will NOT post about religion or political topics, there are about a googolplex (10^100) of sites dedicated to those subjects. I will not post stories that deal with things outside of gaming. I will not post personal rants about individuals, only I get to do that. I'm pretty open and easy going about it so start writing, it can be fun and interesting to show your PoV.

Guild : Welcome to WoW 3.10
Posted by Beldwain on Tue Apr 14, 2009 14:46:19 (50 reads)
As the title suggests we will now be going to 3.1 and to Ulduar. I hope this is a big relief for everyone and I expect that we will see more players online then we have in the past weeks. The raids are going to change, the times are changing too. While we don't have anything set in stone yet, Ulduar 25 will take the place of Naxx 25 on Wednesday. Tuesday will remain as a random raid day and 10 man Ulduar late night. Saturday will become 10 Ulduar as well and the reset is up to you to run on your own. Good luck and study those boss guides. Apr 18th is the last scheduled EoE 10 man so if you have signed up for that one you will get to raid EoE.

Changes to Rules and Guild Meeting
Posted by Beldwain on Fri Mar 27, 2009 22:37:08 (47 reads)
Yesterday we had a ground shattering meeting that will change the way we raid from now on. I really appreciate the time everyone took to show up to the meeting and hear me out. I know we probably didn't get to all the questions but if you have any please post them in the guilds forums.
The slide show that represents the bulk of the changes has been uploaded and a link placed in the forums. If you missed the meeting please review it ASAP.
Remember, you need to signup, showup ontime, and do this with a purpose.

Guild : New Officers and Other Changes
Posted by Beldwain on Wed Feb 18, 2009 19:32:36 (81 reads)
I would like to thank everyone who voted and participated in this latest round of Officer voting for DKs and Hunters. I would like give a warm welcome to the new officers. You have been respectfully voted in by your class so take care of your class as they have taken care of you.
Antishiggy has taken on the newest Officer role as Deathknight Officer, congratulations Antishiggy.
Tactical has accepted the Officer role for Hunters, congratulations Tactical.
I know both of you will do a great job in whipping those two classes into shape.
Next up, the SaA's had a meeting on Monday prior to the announcement of the new officers and selected the new classes to votes in next. This week were voting on Warrior and Rogue officers. I would like to remind everyone that your name will be listed if you qualify to be voted on and your name will be at the bottom of the vote post if you are allowed to vote on that class. As you can see from the last two votes, I do check the validity of the votes and know who is casting votes. If your name is not listed and it is your main class then talk to me (Beldwain) about it.
During this weeks SaA meeting we also talked about rewarding our members for signing up for the raids. The way this will work moving forward is that if you sign up, the RL and RA will pull you into the raid first (you must have gear approved by you officer for that raid). Then when all sign ups are in the raid, you will get a bonus EP added to your points (you must be on time to get the bonus, "on time" means when the RL decides to build the raid). Once that award goes out, any remaining spots will be filled. By implementing this you will receive priority on gear through the proxy of points awarded. For example, if someone is raiding as much as you but not signing up you will receive more points due to your sign up. This will give you a higher priority and better chance to get the gear you want. Don't forget, you can still sign up as possible with a brief note letting us know whats going on, if you make it and are added to one of the raids you still can get the bonus.
As a reminder of some of the recent changes, you must begin to monitor the EPGP channel if you want to see the points or apply for standby. All posts of DPS / HPS or other stats are now in the dps channel, NOT in the raid or guild channels check with your officer for the actual names and passwords.
Thanks everyone for doing a great job and oh yeah, almost forgot again, here is a picture from last month when our 10 man team downed KT in the second week of raiding.

Raid Schedules Change
Posted by Beldwain on Tue Feb 03, 2009 22:41:14 (49 reads)
Okay, so I have been rather busy during the month of January but as a quick catchup here are a few notes on whats up. We have in the month of January been right on schedule for raiding. Our official Raiding started at the first of the year and withing 2 weeks of raiding we completed OS, Naxx, and recieved our first key to EoE. This month we have all but 1 boss left to complete three of the Naxx wings. This month should see the completion and farming started for Naxx.
We have felt some of the strain of the gear checks on some bosses where only our best can burn past those bosses. That is expected and I'm happy with the progress. Kudo's to our resident raid leaders for pushing us to perform.
Starting this week we have changed our raiding schedule to better focus on the 25 man raids and push this to completion. 10 Mans are still not what I would call on farm. We should see this start to happen over the next couple of weeks.
Concerning the EPGP system, I believe the system is solid and with our new loot and time tracking in place we have a fallback to know who attended what raids and the items that they were charged for in raid. I know some of you are new to the EPGP system but if you watch how the points fluctuate over the next couple of weeks you will better understand the distributive quality of EPGP and why we stand behind it as a guild.
Overall it has been a great month, keep it up, and most of all, HAVE FUN!

Guild : New Years Eve Antics!
Posted by Beldwain on Thu Jan 01, 2009 18:20:26 (71 reads)
Despite the fact that a large chunk of our guild were out toasting to the new year, the large pack of AJ'ers that were available didn't sit idle. After successfully warming up with several 40 man old world raids we grouped in some extras to our already large raid and truly gained 40 players. Once that happened we were on a nonstop killing spree to all the major horde cities.
At Thrall's den of deceit we executed a perfect downing but no achievement was made. That didn't diminish our hopes so off to Undercity, where there was no stopping us, boss 2 down with a successful achievement. That raised our spirits and we took off for the Bloodelfs monarch who was shredded like tissue, by the way, we used their holiday gnome making machine to become holiday gnomes to raid the city.
Finally, on to Thunderbluff, taking down the king their we needed to make a go at Thrall one more time. Since we had rolled through every city so quickly we made it back before he spawned(btw if anyone wants to know it took him 2 hours and 15 minutes to spawn). We turned the hut into an alliance hut and enjoyed the continues flow of the horde that provided us with entertainment while we waited. Just as we began to feel like we were going to be cheated out of the full achievement, bingo someone yells, "THRALL HAS SPAWNED!". We cut through him like a hot knife through butter.
Nowadays since Blizz has created the achievement system there are sometimes bugs but not many. The point is we did kill Thrall twice and we all know it was still red and not gray to us all in the raid. So, we still don't know what happened there with Thrall. The folks that stayed the length all received the achievement "For The Alliance!" and a nice Black Bear through the mail.
Gratz to everyone who made the numerous achievements with us on this wonderful new years celibration!
While I know we don't need screen shots anymore to prove that what I say happened, I still take them, just in more fun ways. So, see here, we have stopped the city streets with a AJ Black Bear patrol.

Guild : Happy New Year! Raiding Officially Kicking Off!
Posted by Beldwain on Mon Dec 29, 2008 21:27:05 (83 reads)
Raid Signups are now being posted for official runs.
We are expecting overflow signups for the 10 man raids and hope that everyone understands that you will be judged by the Raid Leader for you gear level. Lots of people message me for the raids, to see if they can get in, this is not my decision(unless I'm the RL). I will leave that in the hands of the RL's. You maybe rejected, so what, you didn't get in on this one because your gear is gimp. It's alright, it may take time, but you will get in if you keep working for badge/heroic/crafted gear. That is the bottom line you must make sure you know where to get those things, try http://www.wow-loot.com. Also, I can make the spell power cape [Wispcloak] for you if you provide the mats. Other can make weapons, armor, and gems. Above all, do not expect to go on raids if you don't have enchantes on your armor. There are numberous ways to get the best enchantes, rep rewards, guildies, or AH, however you do it doesn't matter, just do it.
If your feeling left out of the fun of the guild or game for no good reason, then check yourself a couple ways before quiting the game, /gquiting, or complaining:
-Have I put forth an effort to be noticed as needing a run in guild chat?
-Have I farmed for this in and outside the guild?
-Do I know what I need to get and how to get it?
-Have I put a group together to farm for badges?
-Do I ever ask for help from anyone in the guild?
-Do I talk about issues to the write people?
-Have I ever used the LFG function to get into a run/raid?
-Have I ever logged onto vent and asked for help?
-Have I put together a group that can accomplish the instance?
I don't care if you have a mic or not, neither do the ppl on vent, if you goto a channel where they are just talking, not running some instance or raid, than you should be able to get an answer. You can talk in whispers to the people ingame and they will talk to you in vent.
With that said, if you say no to any one of these questions above, (btw - the list is a very long one, not included here) then you may want to get started working on making them into a "yes" for each. There are all kinds of explainations as to what makes these questions important, but the key is to get involved.

WotLK - Time for Leveling
Posted by Beldwain on Sat Nov 15, 2008 20:15:52 (63 reads)
Well, the long awaited Wrath of the Lich King is sitting here on my desk, so without much more to say on the matter, everyone have fun and enjoy the trip to level 80. I know I will, I'm not so concerned with being level 80 as I'm a bad leveler, Almitra will tell you that, she knows full well.
Remember, if it's not fun or your getting grumpy for silly reasons, just take a break, we will all get to 80 and see all the content.

# All pets become spells in pet tab
# All mounts become spells in pet tab
# New Currency Tab will remove all marks and money and place in this new tracker
# Spellpower will become the new mantra of casters DPS and Healers alike (know your info on this, there will be a test)
And so much more that I'm not about to list it here but I do know where you can go: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/patchnotes/test-realm-patchnotes.html
Check it out, also of great note, your addons will fail, not the simple ones, it's the things like button mods and other things like that. Don't worry, I will have an available post in our forums that will have links to download working versions uploaded in a little while, hopefully before the Maintenance is over.
